Who am I?
I'm Pilar, a San Francisco-based certified personal trainer with 8 years of experience in group fitness and personal training, specializing in pre and postnatal fitness.
My coaching style lives at the sweet spot between two things I love equally: the energy and camaraderie of group fitness — think party music, a lot of energy, and a room that genuinely feels good to be in — and the thoughtful, individualized attention of personal training. My favorite part of the job? Helping moms actually understand their bodies and cutting through all the confusing "do this, never do that" noise around perinatal fitness.
When I'm not coaching, I'm spending time with my family and slowly getting back to the things I love: salsa dancing, long phone calls with my sister, and hanging out on the front stoop with a nice glass of wine!

I provide semi-private, small-group strength training for moms who want a clear, structured path to building total body strength, at a pace that works for where they are right now.
We start with an individualized movement assessment and goal-setting session, then move into group training built around a progressive strength program. Designed for the group, tailored to you. We focus on your individual targets, corrective exercises, sets, reps, and loads.
All the attention of personal training, without the price tag!
I take a similar approach in my prenatal group fitness class at UCSF's Mission Bay gym.
Know someone who's expecting? Send them my way!

Group fitness holds a unique kind of healing — especially after something as life-changing as pregnancy and birth. There's something special about moving alongside other people who are in the same boat.
And for a lot of moms, these 45 minutes are also a rare pocket of time that's just for you. I know firsthand how hard it can be to carve out any semblance of self-care, and this is my small way of offering a little of that back. You deserve it!
Good music and good energy aren't extras — they're part of the program. I bring the party to every session, because a great playlist and a fun vibe can make all the difference between dreading a workout and actually showing up for one.

Glad you asked!
Mombod — Let's have some fun with this, shall we? Mombod just has a funny ring to it. Life is hard enough, and I don’t think your fitness routine has to be experienced as yet another challenge to get through. Parenthood has handed me more humbling moments than I can count, and my biggest takeaway so far is this: don't take yourself too seriously. Mombod is an invitation to let your guard down, laugh a little, and let your inner silly self lead the way.
Athletic — We might not be competing in the Olympics anytime soon, but we are training to at least meet the physical demands of motherhood. Every session is built around functional fitness and incorporates real athletic movements.
Club — What we're doing here goes far beyond working up a good sweat. It's about showing up for ourselves so we can show up for our kids, our communities, and each other.
If you share these values, you're already part of the club.
